Where to Find Public Charging Stations
While you drive around Woodbury and beyond, you’ll eventually need to recharge your electric vehicle. There are plenty of common areas where you can find a public charging station. There is a good chance that you can find one at most gas stations. If you’re traveling farther away from home, then you can also most likely see some at your hotel, or one nearby. Some other locations that will likely have one for you to use are certain movie theaters, grocery stores, and apartment complexes. How to Search for Public Charging Stations
Public charging stations may not be as ubiquitous as their gas counterparts, and not every gas station will have somewhere for you to recharge, which is why EVs can easily help you find where to go. As long as the vehicle stays connected to the internet, it will be able to detect any nearby charging stations and can direct you on how to get there. Types of Charging
There are a variety of different types of charging that you’ll be able to find in public, and it’s important to know which is which. If you’re somewhere for a long period of time, or if you just want to top your car off, then you can use a 120-volt plug, also known as Level 1 Charging¹. This uses the same ordinary electrical outlet as a lamp or laptop charger. If you’re running lower on battery, then you should find some Level 2 Charging², which will use a 240-volt port. This option is more suited specifically for recharging EVs, and as such, will be able to do so faster. Lastly, if your car’s battery is near empty, and you’re in a hurry, then look for DC Fast Charging³, which uses a 480-volt plug. This will be able to bring you up to 80 percent battery in less than an hour. It’s recommended to use this sparingly as overcharging with any level can lead to battery damage. The finance manager put my Tire and Wheel Warranty taxes in the financing so when I canceled a week later, I couldn't get the taxes back So, in the invoice was the price of the warranty, minus the taxes, Also, the outside of the car was not clean enough and when I complained, they cleaned off the armor that was splashed all over the black parts of the car. They showed me a minimal amount of features driving the car. I had to go to another Lexus dealer and read the manual to learn about the car. This was actually the worst car buying experience I've had but I do love my new Lexus. ”

**2. A 240V NEMA 14-50 outlet is required for Level 2 charging. Electrical outlets for use with the dual-voltage charging cable must be installed by a licensed, qualified electrician.
***3. DC charging time will vary based on weather and other factors. DC charging times will increase as temperatures decrease, with significant increases possible at temperatures below freezing. DC Fast Charging should be limited to three sessions per day, regardless of the weather. After three 10-80% charge sessions, DC Fast Charging over the next day may take longer and be less effective. Accessory use, battery level and condition, and charger specifications also can negatively affect charging times.
